Wayne State University softball player Sarah Kish (St. Catharines, Ont./St. Francis S.S.) was named to the 2006 Academic All-District IV College Division Softball Second Team.
A nutrition and food sciences major, Kish was voted to the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) All-League First Team for 2006.
For the season, she hit a team-best .362 while also leading the squad in on-base percentage (.448) and fielding percentage (.987). Kish was second on the squad with 17 walks. She contributed defensively throwing out 14 of the opponents 24 would be base stealers (58%).
The District IV Academic team was selected by members of CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America) located in Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee and Alabama and the College Division includes student-athletes at Division II and III institutions plus NAIA schools.
