Wayne State University senior shortstop Sue Verbeem (LaSalle, Ont./Sandwich S.S.) has been selected to the NFCA All-Great Lakes Region Second Team in voting of the coaches from the three conferences (GLIAC, GLVC and WVIAC) comprising the Great Lakes Region.

Verbeem started all 56 games she played and hit .357 with a team-leading 15 doubles. She also led the squad in runs scored (45), hits (66) and total bases (99), while tying for the team lead in home runs (6) and stolen bases (2). Verbeem was second on the squad in at bats (185) and on-base percentage (.417).

A three-time First Team All-GLIAC selection, Verbeem earned First Team All-Great Lakes Region honors in 2004.
