Wayne State University junior pitcher Molly Yetman (Cambridge, Ont.) was named to the NFCA (National Fastpitch Coaches Association) All-American Third Team. The complete list is available at nfca.org.
Yetman is currently second nationally in earned-run average (0.65), while ranking fourth in strikeouts per seven innings (10.8). She was 23rd in victories (with 24 wins) and 49th in saves (with 2).
She helped WSU to the second-most wins in school history (41), while winning the GLIAC regular-season title and earning the GLIAC co-championship (combination of regular season and GLIAC tournament).
She earned the decision in all four WSU NCAA tournament games last weekend and becomes WSU's first NFCA All-American since outfielder Kelly Kashmerick and first baseman Beth Berry in 2002.
Yetman's battery mate, senior catcher Sarah Kish (St. Catharines, Ont.) is ranked 18th nationally in sacrifice hits per game at 0.34.
