Eight Wayne State University softball student-athletes named to the 2006 GLIAC All-Academic team.
Seniors Meghan Misiak (Livonia, Mich./Churchill) and Jordan Sinclair (Chatham, Ont./Kent), juniors Sarah Kish (St. Catharines, Ont./St. Francis), Anna Schneider (Detroit, Mich./Farmington Hills Mercy) and Sarah Ytsma (Chatham, Ont./McGregor) along with sophomores Meredith Boxberger (Canton, Mich.), Katie Facecchia (Windsor, Ont./Holy Names) and Lindsey Perry (Taylor, Mich./Kennedy) earned a spot on the GLIAC All-Academic squad.
Misiak and Sinclair were three-time honorees, while Kish and Ytsma were honored for the second time. Schneider was named to the team for the first team, while Boxberger, Facecchia and Perry were eligible for the first time in 2006.
To be eligible for GLIAC All-Academic status a student athlete must have: a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.0 or greater (on a 4.0 scale); must be a starter or key reserve; and must not be a freshman or first-year transfer.
