WSU Softball Places Nine On GLIAC All-Academic Team

Nine Wayne State University softball student-athletes were named to the 2007 GLIAC All-Academic team.

Seniors Sarah Kish (St. Catharines, Ont./St. Francis S.S.) and Sarah Ytsma (Chatham, Ont./McGregor S.S.) juniors Meredith Boxberger (Plymouth, Mich.), Robyn Haig (Waterloo, Ont./Waterloo C.I.) and Lindsey Perry (Taylor, Mich./Kennedy), along with sophomores Katie Golub (Lansing, Mich./Grand Ledge), Lisa Seymour (Davison, Mich.), Sarah Teller (Chesterfield Twp., Mich./L'Anse Creuse North) and Lauren Warkentien (East China, Mich./Marine City) earned a spot on the GLIAC All-Academic squad.

Kish and Ytsma were three-time honorees, while Boxberger and Perry were honored for the second time. Haig was named to the team for the first team, while Golub, Seymour, Teller and Warkentien were eligible for the first time in 2007.

To be eligible for GLIAC All-Academic status a student athlete must have: a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.0 or greater (on a 4.0 scale); must be a starter or key reserve; and must not be a freshman or first-year transfer.
