MARQUETTE, Mich. - The WSU women's swimming and diving team found themselves in first place at the end of Thursday's competition at the GLIAC Championships, hosted by Northern Michigan.

The Warriors have a score of 294 through 16 events, with second place Grand Valley State trailing by 26 points. Indianapolis currently stands in third place with a score of 198, followed by NMU (143), Hillsdale (137), Ashland (127.5), Findlay (109), Lewis (101), and Gannon (98.5).

The team of Julie Danaher, Brooke White, Christy Koehler, and Katie Harrigan placed third in the 200 free relay with a time of 1:39.26.

Melissa Duff (5:08.86) and Koehler (5:12.44) went one-two in the 500 free, earning NCAA "B" cuts. Mandy Burton finished in fourth place with a time of 5:14.58.

Harrigan won the 200 IM in a time of 2:08.76, while Amber Staudacher finished second in the "B" final and 10th overall (2:14.66).

White (24.92) and Danaher (25.23) took sixth and seventh, respectively, in the 50 free, and the foursome of Harrigan, Staudacher, Koehler, and Danaher finished in first place in the 400 medley relay (3:59.46).

The Warriors will look to maintain their lead heading into Friday morning's prelims.
