MARQUETTE, Mich. - The Wayne State women's swimming and diving team has a 59-point lead following the third day of competition at the GLIAC Championships, hosted by Northern Michigan, on Friday.

Through Friday, the Warriors have 528 points, followed by GVSU (469), Indianapolis (437), host Northern Michigan (260), Hillsdale (228), Ashland (227.5), Lewis (175), Findlay (164), and Gannon (156.5).

Christy Koehler earned an NCAA "B" qualifier with her fourth-place time of 4:41.03 in the 400 IM. Tiffanie Laforet came in seventh (4:52.38), Whitney Baker placed eighth (4:55.67), and Stephanie Cummings won the "B" final in a time of 4:48.48.

Cummings (1:02.71) and Amanda Marshall (1:04.30) swam in the "B" final of the 100 fly, placing third and seventh in that heat, respectively.

Koehler earned a second NCAA "B" qualifier in the 200 free with a time of 1:56.26, good for third place. Mandy Burton finished eighth (1:59.06), and Haintso Rakouth (1:58.84) and Brooke White (2:01.27) went one-two in the "B" final.

Amber Staudacher finished third in the 100 back with a time of 1:06.95, also making an NCAA "B" cut. Jodi Scott (1:09.63) and Erin Hill (1:10.17) took the top two spots in the "B" final.

Katie Harrigan swam to a second-place finish in the 100 back with a time of 59.50, while Julie Danaher came in seventh in 1:02.17. Hill posted a time of 1:02.13 to win the "B" final.

In the 800 free relay, the foursome of Rakouth, Burton, Melissa Duff, and Koehler finished second in a time of 7:53.02.

Divers Erika Barczak (320.20) and Lindsey O'Neill (309.75) finished second and fourth, respectively, in the one-meter competition.

The GLIAC Championships will conclude tomorrow beginning at 10:30 a.m.
