COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Wayne State women's swimming and diving team moved up one spot to fifth place after Friday night's final events at the 2008 NCAA Championships.
The Warriors, who have accumulated 174 points over the first three days, broke three more school records on Friday.
Ashley St. Andrew (Grand Rapids, Mich./Jenison) broke her own school record with a third-place finish in the 500 freestyle (4:57.32), and Elaina Hogle (Kentwood, Mich./East Kentwood) eclipsed her old mark in the 200 butterfly (2:02.83), finishing third.
The 800 freestyle relay quartet of St. Andrew, Hogle, Haintso Rakouth (Saginaw, Mich./Heritage), and Catherine Leix (Flint, Mich./Southwestern) turned in a ninth-place time of 7:41.26, besting the school record by .09 seconds.
On the one-meter board, diver Erika Barczak (Williamston, Mich.) came in sixth place with a score of 366.85.
The national meet wraps up Saturday beginning with the preliminary swims at 10:30 a.m. ET.
