Rochester, Mich. - The Wayne State University women's swimming and diving team competed at the 2005 Oakland University quadrangular meet on Saturday, October 29 at the OU Aquatic Center.

The women's squad suffered dual meet setbacks to the host Grizzlies (190-51), Cincinnati (151-82) and Wisconsin-Milwaukee (156-86). Team scores.

WSU's "A" team (Erin Hill, Amber Staudacher, Katie Harrigan, Kim Gammon) took fifth in the 400 medley relay with a time of 4:11.01. Wayne State's "B" team of Ashley Eilers, Ashley Scott, Stephanie Cummings and Amanda Marshall was 10th (4:28.69).

In the 1000 free, Melissa Duff was fifth (10:50.66), Alina Corrion was eighth (11:19.54) and Whitney Baker was 10th (11:44.74).

Mandy Burton was sixth in the 200 free (2:00.50), Eilers was 13th (2:06.82) and Marshall was 15th (2:08.80).

In the 50 free, Brooke White was eighth (26.26), Gammon was 10th (26.38) and Julie Danaher was 11th (26.39).

Harrigan was fourth in the 200 IM (2:13.79), Staudacher was 12th (2:18.36), Baker was 15th (2:27.49) and Cummings was 16th (2:33.33).

Erika Barczak placed fourth in the one-meter (209.70) and fifth in the three-meter (205.85). Lindsey O'Neill was sixth in the one-meter (199.70) and seventh in the three-meter (185.80).

Marshall was eighth in the 200 fly (2:28.63) and Cummings was ninth (2:30.60).

In the 100 free, White was eighth (57.35) and Danaher was 11th (59.32).

Harrigan was eighth in the 200 back (2:15.07), Hill was 9th (2:17.47) and Eilers was 12th (2:22.34).

Duff was fourth in the 500 free (5:15.67) with Burton placing eighth (5:25.34). Corrion was 10th (5:29.76).

Staudacher was fifth in the 200 breast (2:33.13) with Hill placing eighth (2:40.70). Ashley Scott was 10th (2:46.72).

In the 400 free relay, WSU's "A" team (Gammon, Danaher, White and Burton) was fourth in a time of 3:48.61. The "B" squad (Tiffanie Laforet, Duff, Baker, Corrion) placed eighth (4:01.83).

The Warriors have a GLIAC meet at Findlay on Friday before travelling to Eastern Michigan on Saturday.
