Women's Swimming And Diving Continues Strong Performance At GLIAC

Marquette, Mich. - The Wayne State University women's swimming and diving team continued its outstanding performance at the GLIAC Championship Friday morning.

WSU had eight "A" finals qualifiers for the evening session.

The Warriors had three "A" finals qualifiers in the 400 IM - Christy Koehler (4:47.57), Whitney Baker (4:52.21) and Tiffanie Laforet (4:52.22), plus Stephanie Cummings (4:52.33) was the top "B" finals qualifier.

Both Cummings (1:02.96) and Amanda Marshall (1:03.50) were "B" finals qualifiers in the 100 fly.

Koehler (1:59.05) and Mandy Burton (1:59.36) were "A" finals qualifiers in the 200 free with Haintso Rakouth (2:00.30) and Brooke White (2:02.32) qualifying for the "B" finals.

Amber Staudacher had the second fastest morning time in the 100 breast (1:07.29). Two Warriors (Jodi Scott and Erin Hill) qualified for the "B" finals. Ashley Scott placed 20th in a time of 1:14.51.

Both Katie Harrigan (1:00.59) and Julie Danaher (1:02.67) were "A" finals qualifiers for the 100 back. Hill qualified for the "B" finals with a time of 1:03.30.
