WSU Women's Swimming/Diving Qualify Several For Saturday's Finals

MARQUETTE, Mich. - In the final day of competition at the GLIAC Championships, the WSU women's swimming and diving team has a total of 10 swimmers in the finals of individual events, as well as a relay in the "A" finals.

Katie Harrigan (2:10.69) and Erin Hill (2:15.57) made the "A" finals in the 200 backstroke.

Brooke White (54.63) and Julie Danaher (54.86) had "A" finals qualifiers in the 100 free, with Haintso Rakouth (56.23) earning a spot in the "B" finals.

In the 200 breaststroke, Amber Staudacher made the "A" finals, as well as an NCAA "B" cut, with a time of 2:26.05. Jodi Scott (2:29.91) also made the "A" finals, while Ashley Scott qualified for the "B" finals (2:38.43).

Stephanie Cummings (2:18.00) and Amanda Marshall (2:19.86) made the "B" finals in the 200 fly.

The relay team of Christy Koehler, Melissa Duff, Rakouth, and Mandy Burton qualified for the "A" finals in the 400 free relay with a time of 3:42.73.

The Warriors currently hold a 59-point lead over second place Grand Valley State.

The finals will begin tonight at 6:00 p.m.
