Preliminary Results

COLUMBIA, Mo. - Seven members of the Wayne State women's swimming and diving team qualified for Thursday's finals on the second day of the 2008 NCAA Championships, hosted by the University of Missouri S&T.

The 200 free relay combination of Julie Danaher (Allen Park, Mich.), Haintso Rakouth (Saginaw, Mich./Heritage), Sara Franklin (Caro, Mich.), and Catherine Leix (Flint, Mich./Southwestern) finished 21st in a time of 1:40.22.

Elaina Hogle (Kentwood, Mich./East Kentwood) placed 10th in the 400 individual medley (4:34.60), and Ashley St. Andrew (Grand Rapids, Mich./Jenison) finished seventh in the 200 free, breaking her own school record by 1.8 seconds.

Agata Zalewska (Swietochlowice, Poland) came in 18th in the 100 butterfly (57.91), and Leix and Rakouth took 33rd (1:57.47) and 36th (1:59.29), respectively, in the 200 free.

In addition, the Warrior 400 medley relay team of Franklin, Hogle, Zalewska and St. Andrew qualified for Thursday's "B" final by placing 15th in the prelims with a time of 3:58.12.

The Warriors are in third place heading into Thursday's finals. Fans can follow the results from the Mizzou Aquatic Center live.
