Preliminary Results

COLUMBIA, Mo. - Four members of the Wayne State women's swimming and diving team, which is in fifth place after three days of competition, qualified for Saturday's finals at the NCAA Championships.

Elaina Hogle (Kentwood, Mich./East Kentwood), Julie Danaher (Allen Park, Mich.), Haintso Rakouth (Saginaw, Mich./Heritage), and Ashley St. Andrew (Grand Rapids, Mich./Jenison) finished ninth in the 400 freestyle relay, breaking the school record by over three seconds. In addition, Hogle's leadoff time of 52.30 broke Tara Haggerty's 2002 mark in the 100 free by .60 seconds.

The only individual to swim Saturday morning, Rakouth placed 47th in the 100 freestyle (53.93).

Saturday's final events, which will include the 1650 freestyle, are slated to begin at 6:00 p.m. ET at the Mizzou Aquatic Center.
