Six members of the 2005-06 Wayne State women's swimming and diving team were named to the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) All-Academic team. The Warriors won the 2006 GLIAC Championship for the first time in school history and placed 24th at the NCAA Championships.

To be eligible for GLIAC All-Academic status, a student athlete must have: a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or greater (on a 4.0 scale); must be a starter or key reserve; and must not be a freshman or first-year transfer.

Selected to the GLIAC All-Academic team were seniors Amanda Marshall (Berkley, Mich.) and Lindsey O'Neill (Dearborn Hts., Mich./Crestwood), redshirt junior Stephanie Cummings (Livonia, Mich./Stevenson), junior Erin Hill (Holt, Mich.), reshirt sophomore Ashley Scott (Windsor, Ont./Riverside S.S.), and sophomore Erika Barczak (Williamston, Mich.).

O'Neill was honored for the third time in his career, while Hill and Scott each earned their second career awards. Barczak, Cummings, and Marshall were all first-time honorees.
