Seven members of the 2006-07 Wayne State women's swimming and diving team were named to the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) All-Academic team. The Warriors won their second straight GLIAC Championship in 2007 and placed 10th at the NCAA Championships, their best-ever finish at nationals.
To be eligible for GLIAC All-Academic status, a student athlete must have: a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or greater (on a 4.0 scale); must be a starter or key reserve; and must not be a freshman or first-year transfer.
Selected to the GLIAC All-Academic team were seniors Mandy Burton (Ypsilanti, Mich./Lincoln) and Erin Hill (Holt, Mich.); redshirt juniors Jodi Scott (Windsor, Ont./Riverside S.S.) and Amber Staudacher (Rockford, Mich.); juniors Erika Barczak (Williamston, Mich.) and Tiffanie Laforet (Tecumseh, Ont./St. Anne's); and redshirt freshman Jenny Howe (Wyandotte, Mich./Riverview).
Hill is a three-time All-Academic honoree, while Burton, Scott, and Barczak were were honored for the second time in their careers. Staudacher, Laforet, and Howe earned their first career awards.
