Seven Warriors Earn GLIAC Women's Swimming All-Academic Honors

Seven members of the 2007-08 Wayne State women's swimming and diving team were named to the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference All-Academic team. The Warriors won their third straight GLIAC Championship in 2008 and placed sixth at the NCAA Championships, their best-ever national finish. (more)

Barczak Earns Winter 2008 GLIAC Commissioner's Award

The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) announced the recipients of the Winter 2008 GLIAC Commissioner's Awards. The awards, sponsored by Meijer, Incorporated, will be presented after the Fall, Winter, and Spring athletic seasons to six male and six female student-athletes that excel both in the classroom and on the fields of play. Erika Barczak of Wayne State University was one of the six females chosen from winter sports. (more)

Women's Swimming & Diving Places Sixth At Nationals

The Wayne State women's swimming and diving team finished in sixth place at the 2008 NCAA Championships, hosted by the University of Missouri S&T. Totaling 206 points, the Warriors achieved their highest national finish since their 10th-place performance last season. (more)
