Orlando, Fla. - The Wayne State women's tennis team (11-6) defeated Franklin & Marshall (1-2), 9-0, Saturday in the Warriors' first match in their Florida trip.
Victorious singles athletes were Amanda Pressotto (Trenton, Mich./Trenton), Colette Cabot (Fruitport, Mich./Fruitport), Steph Nicolson (Bloomfield Hills, Mich./Andover), Dee Mays (Detroit, Mich./Utica), Meghan Luzod (Royal Oak, Mich./Dondero) and Stephanie Van Tuyl (Riverview, Mich./Gabriel Richard). Van Tuyl's match, at the #6 spot, was the closest of the day (7-5, 6-4).
Winners in doubles play were the teams of Nicolson/Mays, Pressotto/Cabot and Luzod/Van Tuyl.
Wayne State will play two matches on Sunday, Georgetown College at 12:00 p.m. and Merrimack at 5:30 p.m.
