Orlando, Fla. - The Wayne State women's tennis team won its third match of the spring schedule with an 8-1 non-conference win over Lincoln (Mo.) in Florida.

WSU split the first two doubles matches as freshmen Sharon Gill (Windsor, Ont./Academie Ste. Cecile) and Milena Vuksanovic (Pancevo, Serbia/Uros Predic Secondary School) downed Ana Lidon Pavon and Tamila Bilalova, 8-4, at the No. 1 position while the No. 2 tandem of sophomore Meghan Luzod (Royal Oak, Mich./Dondero) and junior Sargam Bhatt (Canton, Mich.-Taylor Truman) fell 8-5 to Raffaella Sangalli and Emina Behlic. However, WSU gained another point as Lincoln forfeited the No. 3 match.

The Warriors had little trouble in singles competition winning all five matches in straight sets. Gill improved her winning streak to five matches with a 6-2, 6-1, triumph over Pavon at the No. 1 position while Vuksanovia downed Sangalli, 6-4, 6-1, at No. 2. WSU won the No. 3 thru No. 5 matches only dropping a combined three games as Luzod ousted Bilalova, 6-1, 6-1, freshman Jennifer Bradford (Detroit, Mich./Mumford) took out Emina Behlic 6-1, 6-0, and Bhatt upended Brezette Elder Wade, 6-1, 6-0, respectively. Lincoln also had to forfeit the No. 6 match.

WSU concludes its spring break Florida road trip with a non-conference dual match against Southern-Illinois Edwardsville on Thursday, March 13 at 8:00 a.m.
