DETROIT - The Wayne State University women's tennis team recorded a 7-2 victory over Tiffin University Thursday afternoon at Wimbledon Racquet Club in St. Clair Shores.
The Warriors led 2-1 after doubles as Amanda Pressotto and Collette Cabot teamed for an 8-3 win at second doubles, and Olga Petrovic and Stephanie Van Tuyl earned a 9-8 (7-5 tiebreaker) win at third doubles.
Cabot won 6-3, 6-0 at No. 1 singles, while Dee Mays was a 6-0, 6-0 victor at third singles. Also recording wins in singles play were Pressotto (at No. 4), Petrovic (at No. 5) and Sargam Bhatt (at No. 6).
WSU travels to Allendale this weekend for matches against Lake Superior (Saturday at 5 p.m.) and Grand Valley State (Sunday at 10:00 a.m.).
