Dayton, Ohio - The Wayne State women's tennis team (19-8) won its 12th straight match, including all 10 in its spring schedule, as the Warriors defeated West Liberty State, 5-4, Friday evening in Dayton, Ohio.
The singles matches were deadlocked at three apiece as Dee Mays (Detroit, Mich./Utica) won at #3, Stephanie Van Tuyl (Riverview, Mich./Gabriel Richard) won at #5 and Sargam Bhatt (Canton, Mich./Taylor Truman) was victorious at #6. The match was Bhatt's first since the GLIAC Tournament on Oct. 27.
The Warriors won two of three doubles matches as the #1 duo of Amanda Pressotto (Trenton, Mich./Trenton) and Colette Cabot (Fruitport, Mich./Fruitport) and the #3 team of Bhatt and Meghan Luzod (Royal Oak, Mich./Dondero) defeated their Hilltopper counterparts.
Wayne State will travel to St. Joseph's (Ind.) on April 5 and face both St. Francis (Ill.) and Quincy on April 6 in Romeoville, Ill.
