TIFFIN, Ohio - The Wayne State women's tennis team (11-9, 5-6 GLIAC) defeated Tiffin University for the second time this spring, earning a 7-2 road victory on Thursday.
The Warriors held a 2-1 lead through doubles play, as Amanda Pressotto (Trenton, Mich.) and Dee Mays (Detroit, Mich.) won their No. 1 doubles match, 8-1, and the duo of Sargam Bhatt (Canton, Mich.) and Collette Cabot got an 8-5 victory in the third slot. It marked the first time this season that Bhatt and Cabot were paired together.
Wayne State won five of the six singles bouts to claim the overall match victory. Among the Warrior winners were Pressotto, who claimed her ninth straight victory, and Mays, a winner of six straight. Olga Petrovic (Windsor, Ont.) also won at No. 5 singles, her third straight win.
The Warriors travel to Alma on Monday, April 10.
