SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - The Wayne State women's tennis team had its season come to an end with a 5-0 loss to Grand Valley State at the NCAA Division II Great Lakes Regional first round played at the Cooper Tennis Complex. The Warriors finish the season with a 13-10 overall mark.
GVSU (22-8) swept all three doubles matches, then earned singles wins at No. 1 and 6 for the team victory. The Lakers will take on Friday's Drury-Ferris State winner at 10 a.m. Saturday.
Saturday's winners move on to Kansas City for the remainder of the national championships next Wednesday through Saturday.
