ALLENDALE, Mich. - Wayne State's women's tennis team (0-1, 0-1 GLIAC) began its season with an 8-1 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference loss at Grand Valley State (1-0, 1-0 GLIAC).
Redshirt junior Dee Mays (Detroit, Mich./Utica) was the lone Warrior to earn a victory as she won 6-2, 7-5 (12-10) at No. 2 singles.
WSU continues conference play in western Michigan with a match at Ferris State on Saturday at 10:00 am.
