Midland, Mich. - Seniors Dee Mays (Detroit, Mich./Utica) and Amanda Pressotto (Trenton, Mich./Trenton) were eliminated from the ITA Regionals Saturday after both losing in the Sweet 16 round.
Both Mays and Pressotto lost to players from Drury University, who had four players advancing to Saturday's second round.
Mays lost a 6-2, 6-1 set to Khrystsina Tryboi. It was Mays' first loss of the season. Pressotto also lost a two set match to Mouna Sabri. The scores were 6-3, 6-1.
The semifinals and finals, which will occur on Sunday, will consist of Amal Basha (Ferris State) versus Sabri and Lindsey Fischer (Indianapolis) versus A. Miranda-Sanchez (Drury).
Wayne State will continue GLIAC play when it travels to Saginaw Valley on Friday, September 22, at 2:00 p.m.
