Detroit, Mich. - The Wayne State women's tennis team shut out its second-straight opponent Tuesday afternoon. This time the culprit was the University of Findlay, 9-0. The Warriors had also defeated Saginaw Valley State last Friday by the same score. With the win, the Warriors improved to 4-2 overall and evened its GLIAC record to 2-2. The Oilers dropped to 1-7 and 0-4, respectively.
Getting wins for Wayne State was senior Amanda Pressotto (Trenton, Mich./Trenton), senior Colette Cabot (Fruitport, Mich./Fruitport), senior Steph Nicolson (Bloomfield Hills, Mich./L'Andover), senior Stephanie Van Tuyl (Riverview, Mich./Gabriel Richard), freshman Meghan Luzod (Royal Oak, Mich./Dondero), and sophomore Sargam Bhatt (Canton, Mich./Taylor Truman). It was Bhatt's first singles match since September 9 - a span of 17 days.
The Warriors will continue their home stretch when they entertain GLIAC-rival Mercyhurst on Friday, September 29, at 2:00 p.m.
