Detroit, Mich. - The Wayne State women's tennis team dropped its third-straght match after losing to visiting Grand Valley, 6-3, Saturday afternoon at the Eastside Racquet Club. The Warriors are now 7-5 overall and 4-5 in the GLIAC.
Four of the six singles matches went three sets, with the Warriors getting the upper-hand in three of them. Senior Amanda Pressotto (Trenton, Mich./Trenton) defeated Lindsay Grimmer in #1 singles, 6-2, 3-6, 6-1. Senior Steph Nicolson (Bloomfield Hills, Mich./Andover) came from behind to beat Audrey Koopsen in #3 singles, 3-6, 6-4, 6-2. Senior Dee Mays (Detroit, Mich./Utica) also came from behind to better Emily Zellner in #4 singles, 4-6, 6-2, 6-2.
The difference was in doubles play, as all three Warrior teams lost.
Wayne State will prepare for the GLIAC Tournament, which will take place at the Midland Tennis Center on Friday-Saturday, October 27-28.
