MIDLAND, Mich. - The Wayne State women's tennis team finished in sixth place at the GLIAC Championship, losing 5-1 to Mercyhurst on Saturday, who finished fifth.
Steph Nicolson (Bloomfield Hills, Mich./Andover) and Dee Mays (Detroit, Mich./Utica) claimed Wayne State's only victory in the match, an 8-4 win at No. 1 doubles.
Amanda Pressotto (Trenton, Mich.) and Whitney Dillon (Portage, Mich./Central) battled to a tiebreaker in their No. 2 doubles match, but were finally defeated 9-8.
The Warriors conclude the season with a 5-7 overall record, 4-5 in conference play, and a sixth-place finish in the overall GLIAC standings.
