MIDLAND, Mich. - With a 5-2 victory over the No. 3 seed, Ashland University, the Warriors took third place in the GLIAC championship tournament. Although the Eagles defeated WSU earlier in the regular season, Wayne State proved their worth in the tournament.

Sharon Gill (Windsor,Ontario/Academie Ste. Cecile) was brilliant in her defeat of No. 1 singles opponent Paola Orozco, 6-2, 6-0. The Warriors won in three sets at the Nos. 2, 4 positions, and in No. 6 singles Jennifer Bradford (Detroit/Mumford) was a straight set winner, 6-2, 6-1.

The Warriors finished the regular fall-season with a GLIAC record of 5-4, (9-5 overall) ranking fourth in the conference.
