Women's Tennis Ranked Seventh in ITA Great Lakes Region

Detroit, Mich. - The Wayne State women's tennis team (16-6), in the midst of a nine-game winning streak, is ranked seventh in the latest ITA Great Lakes Region poll. The top eight teams make the NCAA Tournament.

The GLIAC has six of the 10 teams in the poll. Three of the Warriors' opponents this season - all in the GLIAC - are in the Division II national poll: Northwood (#13), Grand Valley State (#33) and Ferris State (#34). The complete poll is as follows:

4. Grand Valley State
5. Ferris State
6. Lake Superior State
7. Wayne State
8. West Liberty State
9. Mercyhurst
10. Charleston

Wayne State will end its Florida trip against Lees-McRae later today (Wed., 12 p.m.) before heading home to host Grand Valley State on March 25.
