Detroit, Mich. - Wayne State senior women's tennis player Colette Cabot (Fruitport, Mich./Fruitport) was named Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Player of the Week in the first release of the season.
The 5-6 Cabot went 6-0 in last week's West Virginia State Tournament, helping the Warriors to a 3-0 record to start the season. She went 3-0 at number two singles, winning all three matches in straight sets. She also went 3-0 at number three doubles with senior Amanda Pressotto. Cabot has now amassed a 10-4 (.714) career singles record at Wayne State, while also posting an 11-3 (.786) mark in doubles play.
The Warriors will travel to the upper peninsula this weekend to play Lake Superior State on Friday at 2:00 p.m. and Michigan Tech on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. The matches will be the first conference games for WSU.
