FINDLAY, Ohio - The Wayne State volleyball team suffered its third straight loss to open the season, a 3-0 setback to California (Pa.) on Friday evening in the TownePlace Suites Classic, hosted by the University of Findlay.

The Vulcans swept all three games (30-25, 30-18, 30-22) to improve to 5-1 on the season.

The Warriors struggled offensively, as they managed an attack percentage of just .054.

Freshman Meg Leone (Troy, Mich.) tallied 21 assists in her first collegiate match. Senior Michelle Bittner (Hamtramck, Mich./Regina) led Wayne State defensively with nine digs.

Wayne State will meet Lock Haven tomorrow morning at 11:00 a.m. before playing its final match of the tournament against Edinboro at 1:00 p.m.
