CALIFORNIA, Pa. - WSU's volleyball team remained undefeated with a 3-1 (22-30, 30-28, 30-15, 30-17) win over St. Joseph's (Ind.) Saturday morning at the Holiday Inn Meadow Lands Classic, hosted by California (Pa.). The Warriors, who are now 3-0 this season, will wrap up tournament play against West Virginia State at 1:00 pm.
Senior outside hitter Megan Smolen (Grosse Ile, Mich.) recorded her first double-double of the season with 11 kills and a team-high 18 digs. Newcomer Kristen Buter (Muskegon, Mich./CMU) also tallied a double-double with 11 kills and 12 digs, while Michelle Bittner (Hamtramck, Mich./St. Clair CCC) added 17 digs defensive.
The Warriors were dominate at the net as redshirt senior Elisa Joris (Walled Lake, Mich./GVSU) totaled nine blocks and redshirt sophomore Jordan Peek (Birch Run, Mich./Macomb CC) had six.
