HILLSDALE, Mich. - The Wayne State volleyball team was defeated, 3-0, in its first conference match of the season at Hillsdale College on Tuesday evening.
The 20th-ranked Chargers swept the match (30-12, 30-12, 30-19) to improve to 10-0 on the season. The Warriors, meanwhile, are winless through six matches in 2006.
Kristi Pieper (Roseville, Mich./Fraser) led all players with 16 digs, while Miranda Robison (Coldwater, Mich.) led the Warrior attack with eight kills.
Wayne State travels to Ohio this weekend for GLIAC matches at Findlay on Friday and Ashland on Saturday. WSU's home schedule begins Sept. 15-16 when Mercyhurst and Gannon come to the Matthaei.
