ALLENDALE, Mich. - Wayne State's volleyball team earned its first sweep since Sept. 14, 2002 (vs. St. Joseph's) with a 3-0 (30-25, 30-16, 30-25) win over Alderson-Broaddus at the GVSU Days Inn Classic on Saturday, Sept. 6. The Warriors improve to 4-3 while the Battlers fall to 2-3 on the season.

The Warriors had their best hitting performance of the season with a .274 percentage led by sophomores Kelita Sinclair (.626) and Jeana Wiehl (.417). The two combined for 18 kills and just one error in 35 attempts. Junior Toni Purgatori recorded a match-high 13 kills.

WSU played tough at the net as well with 10.5 blocks. Sinclair tied her career-high in blocks with six and her .626 hitting percentage is a new career-high.

Four Warriors collected double-digits in digs: senior Rebecca Hague (12), sophomore Sei Hee Hwang (11), redshirt freshman Kristi Pieper (11) and senior BreAnne Detrick (10).

Wayne State finishes tournament play against North Alabama Saturday at 6:00 p.m.
