FINDLAY, Ohio - The Wayne State volleyball team (4-2) had its three-match winning streak snapped following a 3-1 setback against Wheeling Jesuit (4-3) on Friday evening at the TownePlace Suites Classic, hosted by the University of Findlay.

After winning the first set, 25-17, the Warriors dropped the next three to the Cardinals (16-25, 23-25, 19-25). Wayne State posted an attack percentage of .394 in the opener, but hit only .027 over the remainder of the match.

Lauren Mallast (Chesterfield, Mich./Anchor Bay) nearly achieved a double-double, totaling 11 kills and eight blocks, while Kim Gear Benton Harbor, Mich./Watervliet) notched nine kills and a squad-best .304 attack percentage.

Defensively, the Warriors were led by Mayssa Bazzi (Dearborn, Mich.) who had 17 digs. Katy Westenberg (Milford, Mich.)and Meg Leone (Troy, Mich.) tallied nine apiece, while Marcie Hill (Dearborn, Mich.) collected eight. Westenberg also had 33 assists and five blocks.

Wayne State will play twice Saturday afternoon, with matches against California (Pa.) at 12:30 p.m. and former GLIAC member Gannon at 3:00 p.m.
