CHARLESTON, W.Va. - Wayne State completed the Capital City Classic with a 3-0 win (30-22, 30-21, 30-22) over Mars Hill College on Saturday, Sept. 11, to improve its record to 8-0 this season. WSU hit excellent, committing just eight attack errors in the match.

Seniors Elisa Joris (Walled Lake, Mich.) and Megan Smolen (Grosse Ile, Mich.) led the Warriors' attack with 15 and 11 kills, respectively. Joris added 11 digs and six blocks for a double-double.

Setter Kerri Royer (Lawton, Mich.) had an all-around perform with 11 kills, 28 assists and five digs.

Wayne State opens GLIAC action on Tuesday night as Hillsdale College visits the Matthaei at 7 pm.
