DETROIT, Mich. - The Wayne State volleyball team (5-6, 0-3 GLIAC) suffered its third straight defeat, a 3-0 result to 17th-ranked Hillsdale (12-4, 3-0 GLIAC) on Tuesday evening at the Matthaei.

The Chargers, who have not lost a league regular-season contest since Oct. 22, 2005, defeated the Warriors by scores of 30-20, 30-23, and 30-28 to extend its overall winning streak to five. Wayne State kept the third game close, however, outhitting Hillsdale .195 to .180.

Meg Leone (Troy, Mich.) had a solid night for WSU, totaling eight kills, 13 digs, three blocks and a pair of service aces. Mayssa Bazzi (Dearborn, Mich.) had 23 digs, and Maureen MacDonald (White Lake, Mich./Marian) came off the bench to contribute six kills and a .625 hitting percentage.

Kim Gear (Watervliet, Mich.) and Gina Zielonka (Sterling Hts., Mich.) combined for 13 kills, and Katy Westenberg (Milford, Mich.) posted 27 assists.

Hillsdale's Melissa Bartlett led all players with 18 kills while also recording 14 digs.

Wayne State will complete its five-match homestand this weekend, hosting Findlay on Friday and #10 Ashland on Saturday.
