DETROIT, Mich. - The Wayne State volleyball team (5-7, 0-4 GLIAC) dropped its fourth straight match on Friday night, a 3-0 decision to Findlay (14-4, 3-1 GLIAC) at the Matthaei.
The Warriors kept the first game close, outhitting the Oilers .200 to .140, but the visitors had the edge in game one, 30-27. Findlay combined for 31 kills and just seven errors over the next two games, taking them by scores of 30-15 and 30-16.
Maureen MacDonald (White Lake, Mich./Marian), making her first career start, tied Kim Gear (Watervliet, Mich.) for team-high honors with six kills apiece. MacDonald also chipped in six digs and a service ace.
Mayssa Bazzi (Dearborn, Mich.) led all players with 19 digs, and Katy Westenberg (Milford, Mich.) totaled 25 assists.
Findlay's Mallory Fleming had a match-best 15 kills.
Wayne State will complete its five-match homestand Saturday afternoon, hosting 10th-ranked Ashland.
