UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. - The Wayne State volleyball team dropped its ninth straight road match of the season on Friday night, as the Warriors were defeated, 3-1, by the Saginaw Valley State Cardinals in GLIAC action.

The Warriors took the first game by a score of 30-26 but narrowly lost the next three (23-30, 25-30, 26-30).

Wayne State fell to 1-5 in the conference (1-10 overall), while Saginaw Valley improved its GLIAC record to 4-3 and its overall record to 11-4.

Neither team was particularly dominant offensively, with SVSU (.173) just edging Wayne State's (.164) attack percentage despite the Warriors outhitting the Cardinals through the first two games of the match.

Miranda Robison (Coldwater, Mich.) contributed 20 digs, and WSU got 14 from Michelle Bittner (Hamtramck, Mich./Regina) and 13 from Kristen Buter (Muskegon, Mich./North Muskegon).

Robison and Buter each reached double-doubles as well, as they posted 22 and 15 kills, respectively. Robison led all match regulars with a .273 attack percentage.

The Warriors will remain in mid-Michigan tomorrow for a 4:00 p.m. GLIAC match at Northwood.
