TIFFIN, Ohio - Extending its winning streak to four matches, the Wayne State volleyball team (9-5, 4-2 GLIAC) recorded a 3-1 victory at Tiffin (9-7, 0-6 GLIAC) on Friday night.
Wayne State took the first set, 25-18, and after Tiffin tied it up with a 25-23 win in the second, the Warriors dominated the final two by scores of 25-12 and 25-15.
Meg Leone's (Troy, Mich.) double-double of 10 kills and 10 digs paced the Warriors, while Sarha Gosselin (Harrison Twp., Mich./Warren Lincoln) and Kim Gear (Benton Harbor, Mich./Watervliet) posted kill totals of 13 and 12, respectively.
Lauren Mallast (Chesterfield, Mich./Anchor Bay) contributed 10 kills and eight blocks including two solo.
Katy Westenberg (Milford, Mich.) had 46 assists, and Mayssa Bazzi (Dearborn, Mich.) tallied a team-high 19 digs.
Wayne State, which remains tied with Hillsdale for first place in the South Division, travels to Ashland for a 1:00 match Saturday.
