Detroit - The Warrior volleyball squad (5-9, 1-5 GLIAC) dropped a 3-0 decision to visiting Findlay (16-4, 5-1 GLIAC) on Friday, Oct. 3, at the Matthaei Building. WSU gained ground each game, as the scores were 30-20, 30-25 and 30-26.
Sophomore Megan Smolen (Grosse Ile, Mich.) recorded her eighth double-double of the season with a team-high 15 kills and match-high 20 digs. Both totals were team-highs for a three-game match in 2003.
Senior libero BreAnne Detrick (Lambertville, Mich./Owens C.C.) and freshman Kristi Pieper (Roseville, Mich./Fraser) chipped in with 11 and 10 digs, respectively.
Sophomores Kelita Sinclair (Caledon, Ont./Turner Fenton) and Sei Hee Hwang (Toronto, Ont./Cedarbrae) each had seven kills on the night.
Findlay's Kara Heitmeyer was the leading hitter on the night with 16 kills.
Wayne State hosts Ashland University Saturday at 11:00 a.m.
