HOUGHTON, Mich. - For the second night in a row, the WSU volleyball team fell in five games, 3-2 (30-24, 28-30, 27-30, 30-25, 15-11), in Great Lakes Intercolliagate Athletic Conference action. The Warriors lost to Michigan Tech despite being up 2-1 in the match.
Wayne Staete was led by Toni Purgatori's 15 kills and .375 hitting percentage. The junior also had her fourth double-double of the season with an addition 13 digs.
Sophomore Sei Hee Hwang split time with senior Rebecca Hague at setter. Hwang tallied a career-high 26 assists on the night, while Hague had a triple-double with 14 kills, 28 assists and 16 digs.
WSU (6-11, 2-7 GLIAC) visits on Northern Michigan, the top seed in the GLIAC North Division, on Sunday at 11:00 a.m.
