MARQUETTE, Mich. - The Wayne State volleyball team (10-9, 5-6 GLIAC) lost in straight sets at Northern Michigan (13-7, 8-3 GLIAC) on Saturday afternoon by scores of 25-16, 25-17, and 25-20.
The Warriors have dropped four of their last five matches but remain in a three-way tie for first place due to Hillsdale and Northwood losses on Saturday as well. The Wildcats, meanwhile, have a five-match winning streak.
Sarha Gosselin (Harrison Twp., Mich./Warren Lincoln) finished with a team-high nine kills as well as eight digs. Candis Jenich (Warren, Mich./Cousino) contributed eight kills and five digs, while Mayssa Bazzi (Dearborn, Mich.) led WSU defensively with 10 digs.
Wayne State will participate in the GLIAC/GLVC Crossover Tournament next weekend, Oct. 17-18, in Indianapolis.
