ALLENDALE, Mich. - Wayne State fell at 10th-ranked Grand Valley State in GLIAC volleyball action Saturday in Allendale. The Lakers won 3-0 with scores of 30-23, 30-21 and 30-19.
Middle blocker Sofi Berczely (Buenos Aires, Argentina) led the Warriors with nine kills. Redshirt junior Elisa Joris (Walled Lake, Mich./GVSU) made her return to Grand Valley and recorded eight kills and four total blocks.
Senior Darcie Amsdill (Dexter, Mich.) made her first appearance since Oct. 23, 2002 with four kills and four digs.
The Warriors will travel to Erie, Pa., next weekend for matches against Mercyhurst (Oct. 22) and Gannon (Oct. 23).
