INDIANAPOLIS - In its third and final match at the GLIAC/GLVC Crossover, the Wayne State volleyball team (12-10) notched a 3-0 win over Drury (10-13) on Saturday morning. Wayne State finished with a 2-1 record in the tournament.

Sarha Gosselin (Harrison Twp., Mich./Warren Lincoln) again set the pace for WSU with a 19-kill, 10-dig performance, for her third straight double-double. She hit .516 in the match and finished with 60 kills and 35 digs in the Crossover.

Wayne State trailed Drury only once, when the Panthers won the first point of the third set. The Warriors posted a season-high .345 hitting percentage, compared to a .156 mark for the Panthers, and swept the match (25-19, 25-17, 25-21) in just 1:07, WSU's fastest match of the season.

Lauren Mallast (Chesterfield, Mich./Anchor Bay) and Kim Gear (Benton Harbor, Mich./Watervliet) totaled nine and seven kills, respectively, and had four blocks apiece. Katy Westenberg (Milford, Mich.) contributed 42 assists and eight digs, while Mayssa Bazzi (Dearborn, Mich.) led all players with 16 digs.

Wayne State resumes league play Friday, Oct. 24, with a 7:00 p.m. match at Northwood.
