HILLSDALE, Mich. - The Wayne State volleyball team (8-13, 3-10 GLIAC) was upended, 3-0, at 14th-ranked Hillsdale (20-6, 11-2 GLIAC) on Friday night, marking the third straight shutout loss for the Warriors.
The Chargers outhit the Warriors, .415 to .104, to sweep the match by scores of 30-18, 30-12, and 30-24.
Gina Zielonka (Sterling Hts., Mich.) narrowly missed a double-double, totaling 11 digs and a team-high nine kills. GLIAC and national digs leader Mayssa Bazzi (Dearborn, Mich.) had 14 on the night.
Mallory McEnroe (Grand Rapids, Mich./Forest Hills North) and Meg Leone (Troy, Mich.) recorded six and five kills, respectively, and Katy Westenberg (Milford, Mich.) chipped in 25 assists.
Wayne State will close out its 2007 home schedule next weekend, hosting Gannon on Friday and Mercyhurst on Saturday.
