Detroit - For the second day in a row, the Warrior volleyball team avenged an early-season loss as they defeated Gannon, 3-1 (27-30, 30-20, 30-27, 30-24), on Senior Day in front of a ruckus crowd at the Matthaei Saturday, Oct. 25. It's the Warriors' second GLIAC win in a row and improved their record to 8-14, 4-10 in the conference. The Lady Knights fall to 18-6, 8-6.

Game one was tight throughout as the score was tied 11 times. But Gannon pulled away for the 30-27 win as it only had one hitting error in the game.

The Warriors responded quickly in the second as they went on a 15-9 run thanks to a Kelita Sinclair solo block to give WSU a 22-16 advantage. Toni Purgatori (Yale, Mich.) had one of her 11 kills to end the game, 30-20.

The third stanza was much like the first as it was tied seven times. The last time it was tied was at 22 before the Warriors went on for the 30-27 victory.

The fourth and final game saw WSU sprint out to a 20-12 lead and hold on to win 30-24.
