In the Warriors' final match of the weekend, they made it a clean sweep of Bellarmine. Freshman Jeana Wiehl was on fire in the first game, connecting on five of her final six attack attempts. She finished with eight kills and a .333 hitting percentage.
Jaime Banners took over in the third to close out the match. She was a perfect six-for-six on attack attempts and had a match-high 12 kills. WSU held BC to just 39 kills and .078 hitting percentage. The Warriors also doubled-up Bellarmine in digs, 62-31 led by BreAnne Detrick's 14.
Megan Smolen recorded double-digit kills in all four matches, averaging 13.25 per match.
Wayne State opens its home schedule Wednesday, Sept. 4 hosting University of Michigan-Dearborn at 7 p.m. in the Matthaei Complex.
