DETROIT-- - The Wayne State volleyball team (5-1) keeps rolling and doesn't look like it wants to stop anytime soon. Wednesday night the Warriors won their 12th straight game in a 3-0 (30-22, 30-17, 30-22) win over non-conference foe Concordia University (4-4). The Warriors haven't lost a game since the first game of the University of Indianapolis match on Sept. 1.

Led by their middle blocking seniors, Allison Jurasek and Jaime Banners, the Warriors out-hit Concordia .371 to .103. Banners was the match's top performer, connecting on 10 kills, eight digs, and 2.0 blocks. Jurasek chipped in with eight kills, four service aces and 2.5 blocks. The duo committed only two hitting errors on 28 attempts on the night.

The difference in the match was the Warriors' serving. WSU served up 21 aces which ties the team record, established in 1990 against Oakland. Freshman Megan Smolen led the team with five, improving her team-leading total to 22.

Game two was the Warriors' best hitting performance, as they hit .500 percent, completing kills on 11 of 22 attempts and no errors.

Wayne State now hits the road for three weeks. They play this Friday and Saturday, Sept. 13-14 at the Findlay Tournament.
