SAGINAW, Mich.- - Rebecca Hague established a new career-high mark with 57 assists as the Wayne State volleyball team won a hard-fought five-game match at Saginaw Valley State 3-2 (27-30, 30-20, 27-30, 30-22, 15-6) on Friday, Sept. 20.

Being down 2-1 after posting a .044 hitting percentage in the third game, the Warriors outscored SVSU 45-28 in the final two games to win their second-straight GLIAC road match.

Megan Smolen had a game-high 16 kills and 19 digs to lead the Warriors while Jaime Banners chipped in with 14 kills and four of the team's 7.5 blocks.

The Cards' Kelly Samalik led her team with 15 kills.

WSU is now 10-2 and 2-0 in the GLIAC while the Cardinals fall to 4-10, 0-2. Wayne State continues road play with a pivotal early-season match at #18 Northwood Saturday, Sept. 21 at 3 p.m.
